Job title: Network Development Specialist
Location: Basingstoke (Occasional travel may be required)

Salary: £55k - £60k plus 10% bonus, 3% SIS bonus as well as a 10% DV allowance

Candidate must be willing and eligible to go through SC and DV clearance for this role.

Overview:

I am looking for Network Development Specilaists for a client of mine who are leading IT systems integrator operating with the UK defence sector. You will play a key role in designing energy-efficient network solutions that enhance performance while minimizing resource utilization and energy consumption.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, plan, evaluate, and create high- and low-level design artefacts.
• Apply engineering design theories and principles to develop compelling solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Automate, where possible, the deployment of network configurations and software components in a verifiable way.
• Provide professional documentation to accompany all components produced.
• Offer 4th Line support, including direct engagement with vendors, ensuring successful resolution.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in delivering high-quality solutions and documentation using a structured approach for components of varying complexity.
• Proficiency in producing design artefacts such as architectural overview documents, high-level, and low-level designs.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
• Knowledge of NAT, GRE Tunnelling, DMVPN Tunnelling, Subnetting & Supernetting.
• Ability to automate network configurations and/or software components.
• Experience supporting and maintaining work packages throughout the Customer Solution Lifecycle.
• Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching appliances.
