Chloe, can you start by telling us a bit about your background and what led you to CBSbutler?
Sure! I joined CBSbutler nearly three years ago in September. Before that, I spent ten years out of recruitment running my own Pilates business and raising my three children. Prior to my break, I worked in IT recruitment in London for eight years, where I progressed quickly to a director role. Coming back to recruitment was a bit nerve-wracking, but it's been the best decision I’ve made.
How has the flexibility at CBSbutler helped you as a working mum?
I work from home two days a week, and as long as I meet my weekly hours, my manager is happy. This flexibility is crucial for balancing work with my responsibilities as a mum.
What has your career progression been like at CBSbutler?
When I first joined CBSbutler, I wasn't sure what level to come in at. I started as a senior resourcer and was promoted to an account executive role within six to nine months. This role involves more client interaction, which I enjoy. I am now working towards an account management position, which I hope to achieve by the end of the year.
How would you describe the company culture at CBSbutler?
The culture at CBSbutler is one of the best I've experienced. It's a supportive and friendly environment where everyone is willing to help each other. Even though recruitment can be quite individualistic, there's a strong sense of team spirit. The variety of work and the opportunity to collaborate across different divisions make it a very enjoyable place to work.
What would you say to other working mums considering a career in recruitment?
I would encourage them to give it a try. CBSbutler, in particular, is very supportive of working mums. The skills you develop as a parent—like problem-solving and multitasking—are incredibly valuable in recruitment. It's a career where you can use your previous experience and learn on the job.
